Ohana Means Family: Celebrating Our Daughter’s Stitch-Themed 8th Birthday

Eight years.

It’s hard to believe our little girl is already eight years old. Every birthday feels special, but this one seemed to carry a little extra magic. When she decided she wanted a Disney Stitch birthday, I knew it would be filled with bright colors, laughter, and plenty of “ohana.”

Rather than planning one huge party, we decided to make her birthday feel like an entire weekend celebration filled with all of her favorite things.

Ohana means family… and this birthday was all about celebrating ours.

When our Kadie told us she wanted a Disney Stitch birthday party for her 8th birthday, I couldn’t wait to start planning. Stitch is playful, adventurous, a little mischievous, and has the sweetest message about family—making it the perfect theme for an eight-year-old.

Instead of focusing on extravagant decorations, we wanted to create a celebration that was colorful, fun, and full of memories she’d treasure for years to come.

From birthday morning surprises to an Urban Air party filled with jumping, cupcakes, and laughter, here’s how we celebrated our favorite girl turning eight.

The Stitch Party at Urban Air

To kick off Kadie’s birthday adventures she wanted to celebrate with friends at one of  her favorite places, Urban Air.

Obviously I wanted to keep the stitch themed going, so I did bring in a few of my own items to jazz up the room. I’ll link these below, but here’s what we brought.

  • Tropical Stitch tablecloths
  • Matching Stitch plates and cups
  • Personalized reusable cups with different Stitch and Angel designs
  • A colorful “Happy Birthday” banner
  • Giant Stitch number balloon
  • Plush Stitch centerpieces
  • Coordinating balloons in tropical colors

I was so excited how everything turned out.

Everyone loves the Dot cake right now and after having an explosion on sprinkles on Kadie’s cake I 100% understand why and 10/10 recommend it.

Birthday Morning Magic

This year because of big brothers baseball schedule we celebrated Kadie’s birthday a little different. We were in Port Saint Lucie so my normal birthday morning surprise looked a little different.

Simple, sweet and all of Kadie’s favorite things.

Not pictured- star balloons hanging from door frame. I forgot to snap a pic but I am sure you get the idea!
