Spring Flowers Counting by 5’s to 100

April 27, 2020

Kindergarten Math Craft

Spring into counting with this fun cricut math craft. When adding this fun craft you’ll not only work on mathematics number recognition and counting but also fine motor skills, cutting and attention and following directions.

Here’s what your need:

How to:

(Per Cricut Joy Prompts)

  1. Turn on your Joy and open the Counting by 5’s Number Dots Only or Flower Craft- Counting by 5’s Number Dots Only design file in your Design Space
  2. Load your cardstock to the StrongGrip Mat and Select “Make it”.
  3. Select “On Mat”
  4. Depending on your cardstock type you have you will want to choose which fits best. Most likely you will want to select “Medium Cardstock”.
  5. Select Load tools and material and continue with the prompts until project is complete.
  6. Each design will have different amount of sheets to draw/print.  Between loading be sure to check the mat for any debris. Clean as needed.
  7. You will need to switch between material, pens and the knife. Be sure to follow the prompts for each design.
  8. Lay out your flower parts and let your child cut out the leaves.
  9. First you will place the stem and flower on your base sheet, followed by your flower center.
  10. Add 6-7 pedals to each flower. If you notice the final project you will see the ones that have the pedals pushed under and the ones on top.
  11. When you are done lay them out and get to counting!

Once you have your materials you will want to start with having your busy bee cut out the pieces. Given the amount of leaves you may need to help but we pushed through just fine. Once you have your pieces cut out you can get started on your craft!

For each flower you will want to have 6-7 leaves. You will have an uneven amount when you’re done so you will definitely want to customize it to your preference. There are also a few extra leaves in the set for you to add if you’d like as well.

As much as I love to do these projects with Miss Emily, when daddy is home he is always her first pick (daddy’s girl). They were cute as a button working away and counting. Although I’m not positive Jason 100% knew what he was doing due to the looks of their end product lol.

When your kite is complete display so that your child can practice counting at any given time. With this fun craft you’ll not only work on mathematics number recognition and counting but also fine motor skills, writing (if chosen to trace) and attention and following directions.

Ways to make change up your flowers :

  • Mixed up flower colors
  • Print them white and color
  • For younger kids you can cut the leaves and let them color
  • Trace your numbers with different markers.
